Artisan & Historical Context:
Manufactured during the Golden Age of American Elegant Glass (circa 1920s–1930s), these pieces represent high-quality, studio-crafted craftsmanship. The clear crystal blanks were hand-blown and fire-polished by a premier American glass house before being sent to an independent silver decorating studio—most notably The Rockwell Silver Company or The Silver City Glass Company of Meriden, Connecticut.
There, master artisans entirely hand-painted the intricate grid-and-flower design using a specialized metallic flux paste, which allowed pure sterling silver to meticulously electroplate onto the crystal. Because these high-end studios relied on manual artistry rather than assembly lines, each piece is a unique work of art. As was standard for these luxury decorating workshops, they utilized paper or foil labels rather than permanent metal stamps, making pristine, surviving matching sets like this incredibly rare.

Condition Report:
Excellent antique/vintage condition. There are no chips, cracks, or fleabites along the delicate rims or bases. The sterling silver overlay is remarkably crisp, intact, and flush against the glass with no major flaking, lifting, or peeling. Mild, authentic age-appropriate patina/tarnish is present on the silver, proving its authenticity (can be gently polished by the buyer if a bright shine is preferred, though many collectors prefer the antique look).
