Item Description

Gibson 1966 LG-0 -Vintage。- (no260830)

The LG-0 was produced from 1958 to 1974 as a lower-priced model in the LG series.
Compared to other LG models, it features a mahogany body, ladder bracing, a maple bridge plate, and a natural finish.
While it is inferior to higher-end models in terms of resonance and volume, its light and gritty tone is unique to this model.

Based on the specifications and serial number, this guitar is believed to have been manufactured in 1966.
It is from the era of narrow nut widths of approximately 40mm, and features a non-adjustable up-belly plastic bridge, a screw-on pickguard, and a tightly grained rosewood fingerboard.

There is playway consistent with its age, such as extensive weather checking, paint peeling, and pickguard deformation, but fortunately there are no cracks (splits in the wood).
There is some lifting of the bridge when tuning, but since the plastic bridge is screwed in from the inside, no adhesive has been applied.

Previously equipped with a passive pickup (K&K Pure Mini), it's also appealing because it can be easily played as an electro-acoustic guitar.

After arrival, the frets, nut, and saddle were replaced. The detached back bracing was glued back on.
Also, because the tuning pegs were stiff, they were disassembled and cleaned up by removing old grease.
They are currently working smoothly.

The neck is straight, and the truss rod is OK.
The string height is set at approximately 2.5mm on the 6th string side and approximately 2.0mm on the 1st string side at the 12th fret, providing excellent playability.

The tight sound characteristic of the narrow nut era and the medium neck shape, neither too thick nor too thin, provide outstanding playability.
It's great for strumming with a pick, and of course, it's also suited to bluesy fingerstyle playing.

A general-purpose chipboard case is included.
