These were inspired by a client who came to me with an Abigail Ybarra wound Fender pickup that he wanted me to replace. I measured the original and set out to reproduce its specs, and the Mabel '61 grew from there.

This small run of pickups is something I'm really proud of. I hand-make and hand-wind every set myself, one at a time, the same way I build the pickups I gig with.

These are genuinely hand-made and hand-wound, not simply assembled from machine-wound coils. Guiding the wire by hand lets me control the winding pattern and scatter in a way that gives these pickups their open, responsive character. I make them in small runs and sell them direct, so you get the kind of construction normally associated with much more expensive boutique pickups without the boutique price tag.

If you're after something responsive, dynamic and a little vintage, you're in the right place.

I build them because I love this stuff. I play them. And I only sell sets I'd happily put in my own guitars.
