DESCRIPTION:

Up for sale is a vintage job lot of four Dinky Toys 25 Series commercial vehicles, manufactured in England by Meccano Ltd.

This lot features a complete 25b Covered Wagon featuring its original removable cream tinplate canopy cover, a rare survivor for this reference.

INCLUDED MODELS:

25b Covered Wagon / Lorry: Yellow body with black chassis, complete with original cream tin tilt cover.

25e Tipper Truck: Yellow body with black chassis, complete with operating tipping lever mechanism and hinged tailgate.

25i Market Gardener’s Lorry / Stake Truck: Yellow body with black chassis, features raised slatted stake sides and rear speed limit '20' decal detail.

25a Wagon / Flatbed Lorry: Green body with black chassis.

CONDITION DETAILS:

Tin Canopy: Original pressed-steel/tin canopy fits securely over the truck bed with original cream finish showing authentic age-related patina and light paint loss.

Castings: All four truck bodies, cabs, and chassis are structurally sound without zinc pest, splits, or major cracks. The stake sides on the 25i are fully intact.

Mechanics: The tipping lever and hinged tailgate on the 25e tipper function as expected.

Paintwork & Undersides: Authentic play wear, paint chipping, and patina throughout. Baseplates, hubs, and axles are fully intact.

The 25i base looks to have potentially had an overpaint and the tyres look like modern replacements.

An excellent lot for the pre-war Dinky collector or restorer.
