A very sweet vintage French garde manger or food safe originally used for storing and protecting food. 

Handmade wooden frame finished in a worn burgundy paint and with an original metal lock (opened by turning) and metal hinges. Unusually it is finished with a lovely rolled tin roof and handle to the top. 

Wooden slats inside creating a shelf in the middle. A great piece of rustic kitchenalia to display and store items in. 

Measures 38cm high x 25cm deep x 35cm wide. 

Obvious signs of wear and age, but overall condition very good. One wooden slat on the shelf is warped, but is at the rear. Signs of old worm now long gone, but we have treated this and given it a light wax for protection.
