YAMAHA YAS-62 Eb Alto Saxophone [Rope Pattern / Purple Logo] [Early model]
Alto Saxophone as a quality model manufactured by YAMAHA Japan.
This is one of the earliest versions of the Yamaha YAS-62, featuring the distinctive Purple Logo, J-shaped key guard, and Rope Pattern body rings characteristic of the earliest production models.
Known for its excellent response and outstanding ease of play, this early YAS-62 remains highly popular among players to this day. Compared with the current model, it offers a slightly lighter blowing feel and is particularly admired for its rich, vintage-like resonance.
Although it is generally considered to have slightly less volume and resistance than later generations of the 62 series, its light, lively, and vibrant tone has earned strong support, especially among jazz players. These early Rope Pattern models are highly regarded by saxophonists and collectors both in Japan and abroad.
Of course, its versatility also makes it an excellent main instrument for a wide range of musical styles, including jazz, classical music, and concert band.

Used, but still in very good condition.
There are minor signs of regular use on the body, including light surface scratches and some lacquer wear. There is also a noticeable dent on the bottom bow at the marked area shown in the photo. However, considering its age as an early model, the instrument remains in very good, clean, and attractive condition overall. None of these cosmetic imperfections affect the playability or performance of the instrument in any way. The pads show no noticeable signs of deterioration and are currently in good playable condition, with no issues affecting performance.
The finish is all original and has not been refinished.
