The listing is a pair of antique wood carved gold gilded Mandalay Burmese monk statues, originating from Burma in the late 19th century or 20th century. These handmade statues are crafted from wood with gold and red colors, reflecting the traditional Burmese style. I believe they are Sariputta and Moggallana, chief disciples. One has more wear than the other with noticeable splits in the wood and chipped paint. The robes are decorated with inlaid mirror glass accents and moulded lacquer relief work, known as thayo work.
