Character: Maritza is Bolivian on her mother's side and Mexican on her father's side. She is DC born and raised, and she lives in the Capitol Hill neighborhood. Some of her favorite foods are elotes (eh-LOH-tehs) and corn on the cob with lots of queso fresco. She is a seventh grader at the DC Bilingual Middle School. She is bilingual in both Spanish and English.
