This sun shield is intentionally printed in **WHITE**.

Unlike many common 3D-printing plastics intended primarily for indoor use, **ASA is specifically well suited for prolonged exposure to sunlight and weather**.
After printing, each sun shield is also treated with **303 Aerospace Protectant** to provide an additional layer of UV protection and help preserve the exterior finish.
## 🔄 **COMPACT PRINT-IN-PLACE HINGE**
The full protective panel flips down to shade the **JEP-R control area**.
When you need access, simply lift the cover, make your adjustments, and lower it again when you're finished.
The hinge is built directly into the cover using a **one-piece print-in-place design**, meaning there are **no separate hinge pins or loose components** to install, lose, or replace.
The hinge has been designed to remain **compact and low profile** while still providing the strength needed for regular outdoor use.

## 💡 **WHY I DESIGNED IT**
I originally started designing protective covers because I wanted a practical way to protect **expensive pool-control equipment from constant sun exposure** without paying an unreasonable amount for what should be a straightforward protective accessory.
I wanted something that wasn't just functional, but also **looked like it belonged on the equipment**.
That meant paying attention to the details: keeping the hinge compact, maintaining full controller coverage, reinforcing the areas that actually carry stress, removing unnecessary material, and adding structural ribs to help keep the panel rigid during harsh outdoor conditions.
The result is a **purpose-built JEP-R sun shield** designed to provide useful protection without turning into a bulky enclosure.
My goal is simple: offer JEP-R owners a **durable, well-designed sun shield at a fair price**—the kind of product I would want protecting my own pool equipment.
