This my friends is not just a jewel, but a full sculpture in full motion made in solid 18K gold, nothing quite like it ! You can almost feel the rush of the hare / rabbit jumping and sprinting !
Spectacular One Of A Kind French Art Nouveau Deco Circa 1910 18K Gold Happy Landings Highly Detailed Three Dimensional Full Body Rabbit Hare Animalier Sculpture Louis Riché Stick Pin 🐇 Fully hallmarked and signed, the top of the pin has an eagles head hallmark which is French for solid 18K gold and a goldsmith maker mark of which I could only make out the middle anchor image followed by an O or Q, and below the rabbit it has the original stamped mark for L. RICHE, obviously the only gold piece in which the sculptor and goldsmith collaborated to create this magnificent beauty ! Louis Riché was a French sculptor born in Paris on May 29 1877 and past to the other side in 1949. He was mostly a prolific bronze Animalier sculptor who mostly enjoyed creating German Shepherds, search online to see his beautiful art work ! His first exhibit at the Salon in Paris in 1896 at just the age of 19 ! He worked mostly with the Thiebault Freres foundry for the casting of his bronze models, how-ever he was also noted for casting solid silver sculptures for Risler and Carre ! So no surprise here where he ventures further to cast in solid gold, good luck finding another one ! Weighs approximately 7 grams. The entire stick pin from rabbit tail top to bottom pin point is approximately 7.46 cm (2 15.3/16 inches). The rabbit or hare is approximately 2.215 cm (13.9/16 of an inch) in length from nose tip to furthest rear paw edge. With the sculpture being approximately 1.26 cm (7.9/16 of an inch) in height from top tail edge to signed base bottom. Folks I have never encountered anything like it ! An art piece where jewellery and sculpture truly come together ! Resembling an actual rabbit or hare in very realistic action over a terrain with a beautiful batch of grass under its heart ! A rabbit or more likely a hare in action, landing from one of its sprinting leaps, so successfully getting away from its predator, so with the obvious theme, happy landings, ideal for those who frequently fly about ! And signed by the actual artist L. RICHE ! Now this is miniature art at its very best ! Ideal gold piece for any frequent traveller wishing them safe returns ! Or for a runner or sprinter ! Truly a one of a kind museum quality addition to any collection ! In my collection I also have a professional extremely high quality French silver sculpture of two hares surely to please the eyes of any onlookers !
