Antique Chinese Gilt Bronze Qianlong / Jiaqing Cloisonne Enamel Stem Cup 

A Chinese gilt-bronze and cloisonné enamel stem cup or similar vessel, Qing dynasty, dating to the late Qianlong / early Jiaqing period, circa 1770-1810. 

The flared cup is decorated against a rich cobalt-blue ground with varied flowering plants growing amongst stylised rockwork, beneath a ruyi-head border, while the stepped central section carries scrolling ornament and a striking polychrome triangular diaper / chevron band in red, white and yellow. The spreading pedestal foot is similarly decorated with flowers and rockwork, all divided by substantial gilt-bronze rims.

The interior is enamelled in mottled turquoise blue, while the underside of the foot reveals the gilt-bronze construction. The varied naturalistic flowers, irregular rockwork, rich blue ground and substantial metalwork are consistent with 18th-century Qing cloisonné, though an early Jiaqing date remains possible. 

CONDITION in good order with general age-related wear to the gilding and enamels, with surface scratching, pitting & staining - as per images

The overall condition is as you would expect from an object of substantial age that has been displayed/handled/used, usually over the lifetimes of several owners.
