A wonderful and rare WWI Australian Folding Trench (or tent) Candle Lantern Lamp By E A Harper & Sons, Redfern NSW 1916 in it's original metal case. 

Both Case and lantern have brass maker's plaques

Impressed broad arrow mark to case above the maker's plaque.

As found and uncleaned. definitely used as I get soot on my hands from handling. One piece of glass partially missing. leather strap perished and mostly missing.

Case is 33cm high by 16cm wide. 

A lovely piece of Australian tinsmithing. I doubt I'll see another one like it anytime soon.
