Matched pair of Fratelli Coli boat shaped serving dishes in the traditional Puglian schizzato splatter pattern, made in Italy. Heavily glazed terracotta with a cream ground and hand applied blue and green splatter decoration, with small handles at each end. A good size for sauces, dips, olives or individual serves at the table.
The schizzato (splattered) technique is a centuries old decorating tradition from the Puglia region of southern Italy, where green splatter on a pale ground is considered part of the local cultural heritage. Fratelli Coli is one of the oldest workshops in Grottaglie, Puglia's famous ceramics town, with production traditions dating back to 1650. These are contemporary pieces, not vintage. The base carries the printed Fratelli Coli mark and both dishes are marked dishwasher and microwave safe.
Each dish is approx. 4.5 cm high x 17 cm wide x 8.5 cm deep.
Condition: Excellent condition with no chips or cracks to either dish. Please see the photos for more detail.
Please note - I have a three business day turnaround between payment and postage in my T&Cs. I'd like to be faster, but I have little kids who sometimes don't allow it! Please contact me if you need it sent sooner though, and I'll try my best!
