Vintage Braemore trough vase in a classical Grecian urn style, Australia, c.1940s-1950s. Ribbed oval body on a stepped pedestal foot, in a cream white glaze with a speckled pastel green mottled finish. The base carries the embossed Braemore mark, model number C-8, and the impressed initials of the decorator.
Braemore Pottery was established by Russell Cowan at Waitara in Sydney, NSW, in 1939 and operated through to the 1970s. The embossed Braemore mark was used from 1940 until the late 1950s, which dates this piece to that period. Decorators at the pottery marked their initials on the base of most pieces.
Included is a vintage flower frog, marked Made in Japan, with brass pins set in a lead base. It is not a Braemore piece but is the perfect size to sit in the recess of the vase and they have clearly spent a long time together.
Vase is approx. 10 cm high x 19 cm wide x 8 cm deep.
Condition: No chips or cracks to the vase. Some small marks consistent with age and use, nothing major. The flower frog shows age wear to the pins and base. Please note the frog has a lead base, so handle accordingly and keep away from children. Please see the photos for more detail.
Please note - I have a three business day turnaround between payment and postage in my T&Cs. I'd like to be faster, but I have little kids who sometimes don't allow it! Please contact me if you need it sent sooner though, and I'll try my best!
Please check my other listings for more collectables. Always happy to combine postage!
