Up for sale is an incredibly unique and highly collectible authentic piece of Mata Ortiz pottery crafted by artist Anabel Trevizo in Chihuahua, Mexico. This exceptional terracotta olla features a stunning hand-modeled, raised 3D relief scorpion ("bichi") wrapping around the body. The scorpion features intricate fine-line crosshatch painted details, flanked by geometric linework panels in traditional black mineral pigment. The entire clay surface is beautifully hand-burnished to a soft, smooth luster. The bottom is signed/stamped by the artist.
