A beautiful and antique cotton christening gown, believed to date from around the 1820s (late Georgian/Regency period).

This exquisite heirloom has been entirely hand sewn using traditional construction techniques and beautifully demonstrates the craftsmanship of the early nineteenth century.

Made from fine white cotton, the gown features delicate hand stitching and period detailing that make it an outstanding example of early infant clothing.

Pieces of this age are increasingly difficult to find, particularly those that have survived for around 200 years.

Whether purchased by a collector of antique textiles, historic costume enthusiast, museum interest, or as a treasured family heirloom, this is a remarkable survivor from the Regency era.

As expected for a genuine antique approximately 200 years old, there is age-related wear including light discolouration, minor marks, loose threads and small areas of wear consistent with careful long-term storage and age.
