Marquis Vintage Wool Dressing Gown / Robe, Red and Black Check
Shawl collar, corded edging, patch pockets and matching tasselled cord belt

A traditional men's wrap-over dressing gown in a bold red, black and green shadow check, with a deep plain burgundy shawl collar and turn-back cuffs. Corded braid edging runs the full length of the collar, front edges and cuffs, and the original matching braided cord belt with tasselled ends is present and complete.

Patch pockets to the front, belt loops at the waist and a substantial, heavy cloth with a brushed surface. The braid is complete throughout with no unravelling and the colours are still strong. Sold as found from a house clearance; please study the photographs, which form part of the description.

Condition notes
Used vintage condition with wear consistent with age. The burgundy facing inside the back neck is rubbed, with the nap flattened and lightened in one patch, photographed close up. The maker's label is torn through the middle, with both ends still stitched in place and a small opening in the seam where it has pulled away. Light surface marks and general lint on the cuffs. Possible light fading to the front panel. Hem, braid, cuffs and belt all intact with no fraying or unravelling found. Measurements are approximate and taken with the garment laid flat.
