Original 1883 E.T. Cook & Co. Distillers business letterhead from Buffalo, New York, measuring approximately 8.25 x 10.5 inches. Blank on the reverse.

Dated March 13, 1883, this beautifully engraved letterhead features the firm's ornate script heading, with the office at 86 Main Street, Buffalo, N.Y., and the distillery identified at Spring, Champlin and Towsey Streets.

The letter is addressed to Mr. J. N. Davis, Superintendent, New Urbana Wine Co., Hammondsport, New York. The New Urbana Wine Company was one of the best-known wineries in New York's Finger Lakes region during the late 19th century and later became associated with the Gold Seal winery. The printed text acknowledges an enclosed invoice for goods shipped and advises that payment will be requested by draft. Several contemporary handwritten notations discuss the shipment and include period calculations at the bottom of the page.

An attractive piece of 19th-century liquor trade ephemera combining two significant New York beverage companies—a Buffalo distillery and the historic New Urbana Wine Company. It offers strong appeal for collectors of whiskey, wine, distilling, brewing, advertising, and New York business history.

Condition is consistent with age. Original mailing folds, light toning, and typical handling wear are present. The reverse is blank. Please examine all photographs carefully for condition and content.
