Rare American Encaustic Tiling Co. tile with a bouquet of narcissus in a quatrefoil lobed bowl Lansdale, Pennsylvania high and matte glazed ceramic ink-stamped mark. It measures 8.5” x 8.5”. American Encaustic Tiling Co. acquired Franklin Tile Co, in the 1930s following the Great Depression. This tile design was originally made and sold by Franklin Tile Co. it’s free of cracks, chips and repairs. Two small production flaws on the back edge and corner (pictured). The artist left some areas on the daffodils unglazed; I don’t know if this was intentional. One tiny, shallow glaze flake on the center, right side of the tile (pictured). The back is lightly stamped, I used a filter to make it easier to read. I double box and fully insure all fragile items.
