Vintage Siam Sterling Silver Niello Panel Bracelet Boxed Bangkok Thailand 925

This bracelet, highly popular in the '50s and '60s, has been stored in its original presentation box from Bangok Thailand all this time.

All the panels are intact as is the clasp, which is snug when fastened. It is 7 inches long.

Seven rectangular panels bear the handiwork of the artisans who hand-carved the silver to form panels depicting figures from a traditional Thait epic, the Ramakien. The figures include the Thai Goddess of Lightening, holding lightning flashes along with traditional Thai dancers and mythological deities.

Niello is a black alloy made of copper and silver fused onto the metal under high heat and is the medium in which these delicate and intricate figures are carved.

The box shows tarnish from long contact with the bracelet.

The patina that is on the bracelet can be polished off by the new owner if desired.

Bracelet will be carefully packed and shipped from a smoke-free home.
