Up for auction is a scarce, highly interesting complete set of 4 original stamp sheets from Japan, issued to commemorate the 1964 Tokyo Olympic Games. All sheets are intact, full Kleinbogens featuring 20 stamps each in a 5x4 / 4x5 layout.
This unique lot features a significant production variety: while sheets 1, 2, and 4 are regularly produced, the 3rd sheet features a spectacular horizontal double perforation error. Having the error sheet preserved alongside three regular sheets from the same collection provides excellent philatelic contrast and absolute proof of authenticity.
