This is a vintage Chinese letter opener featuring a hand-carved jade belt hook handle.  The handle consists of a dull green jade with a very little luster. It features a dragon head forming the belt-hook, with a classic brassy-toned blade that is signed with the word "CHINA", and is engraved with an imperial dragon motif weaving through clouds chasing a pearl.  It would have utilized two metal fold-over clips to securely mount the handle, but one is broken.  Additionally, there is a metal loop that goes around the head of the dragon that is also broken part way around his head (so it is pretty to look at, but not secure enough to use).  The jade appears intact with no visible cracks or chips, while the blade has aged patina with oxidation inside the etched grooves and the tip is a little bent (see pics as they are a large part of the description).  Also, this seller is not an expert in Chinese items or jade, so buyers should use their own discretion considering to bid.  Sold as shown.  Thanks for looking!
