NASA-SPACE NEW ENGLAND ASTRONAUTS L.E. patch

I am listing these surplus patches separately as there might be collectors who need this one to complete their collections. 

Description:

Commemorating the astronauts that were born in New England states of the U.S. New England, as seen from space, from Manhattan to Maine with the Connecticut River shown in blue cutting across the center. I was born on the left side of that river and grew up on the right side in the state of Connecticut.

The ISS is in orbit with seven stars, six of those stars represent the New England states: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont. The seventh star, the one next to the Moon, is for Alan Shapard, born in New Hampshire and the only New England astronaut to fly to the Moon.

The New England flag is shown with the astronaut pin. The twenty-four stars along the outer border represent an astronaut with a connection to New England.

The central design is placed inside a hexagon for the six New England states.
