NO SHIPPING TO CHINA, DO NOT BID as you Won't be Able to Pay* 1910s Titanic Era Cream Satin Silk Charmeuse Evening Gown. Venetian Lace Panel down Front & at Sleeves, Hobble Skirt which has a Draped Fine Silk Mesh Overlay which gathers up at the sides and is stitched to the Lace Panel in Front. The Mesh Overskirt also has two "knots" at either side of the hem which are tipped in Hand-Crochet Passementerie "Drops", they dangle down to the same length as the Silk Underskirt. The Gown is Completely Hand-Stitched, there are Tiny little French Knots as part of the Construction (pics). Hooks/Eyes down the back, no boning, Muslin Gauze lining at bodice. The Bodice is just Gorgeous, Draped and Knotted at the center front, with little Knots at either side of the waistline which hold up the belt (one side has let down). This gown is in need of some minor attention, some holes in the mesh overlay, the largest of which measures approximately 1 X 1 3/8" at the rear hem, as well as some smaller in size & pinholes. Some stains/spots (pics), the most noteworthy of which are located at the front chest (estate-direct, I've not attempted to dry-clean/launder), very faint underarm shadows. A few of the metal hooks/eyes may have come loose at one end, and there are some holes here at the hooks/eyes. Magnificent piece to take under your wing, being sold in "AS-IS, ESTATE-FOUND" Condition (so Don't bid if you can't accept that as All Sales are Final)...NO RESERVE!
