Heavily cast antique Japanese oval, four-legged bronze incense burner decorated with archaistic motifs including mask handles, band of taotie-style masks and a frieze of floral palmettes all around the body. Nicely patinated example that can be used either as an incense burner or a jardiniere.

Small dent on one side with a couple of associated pin holes. Some age-related surface wear as per photographs.
