This auction is for a gently used chrome plated 10-speed Schwinn Approved (Made in Japan) Shimano Integer FF Freewheel double plateau 39 and 52 tooth chain wheels with guard and crank arm stamped A1 2 79, removed from a 1979 Deluxe Varsity.

In late 1976, Schwinn engineering introduced a new feature called the “PPS Positron II FF System” and installed it on some of their select 5 and 10 speed models such as the Suburban, Caliente, Collegiate Sport, Deluxe Varsity, and World Tourist.

Schwinn advertised the FF System as an advancement in smoother unmatched performance with ease in gear shifting that can be done smoothly and effortlessly anytime the bike is in motion, whether coasting, back-pedaling or without pedaling at all.

The crank arm threads are perfect, the bearings spin smoothly and both pedal threads are in excellent condition.  The FF System will fit all Chicago made Schwinn frames that uses the 16-inch through 27-inch wheels.

As you can see from the photos, the crank arm and chain-wheels show very well, however, the chrome is far from show quality; therefore, I would call it a real nice “Rider Quality" assembly.

The package will be packed with plenty of protective materials to insure safe arrival.

Shipping will be by USPS Ground Advantage, unless UPS or FedEx is a better option.

I ship to all US Zip Codes.
