This is the very sought after Ken Ishiwata 'UK tuned' version of the PM-66. Featuring a number of specially selected upgrades that are designed to elevate the 'KI' version way above the standard model. The most obvious of the upgrades is the very smart Copper plated chassis designed to improve grounding and reduce electromagnetic interference. Other upgrades include specially selected Elna 'audio grade' capacitors in the power supply section and Elna 'Silmic' capacitors in critical audio stages. Another lesser known modification is that the output transistors are hardwired directly to the power supply section in order provide improvements to power, speed, control and dynamics!
These 'KI' amplifiers are highly regarded and are well known for 'punching well above their weight'. I had two of these in for testing, one of the units, you see here. The other is going nowhere, I decided to keep it for myself!
A great sounding, fully tested unit in very good cosmetic condition. Some small marks here and there as can be expected with age.
Note: The speaker terminals were recently upgraded to provide improvements in cable retention and contact quality. I highly recommend the use of high quality banana plugs with this unit.
