This is a vintage divided back postcard, unposted and published by Albertype Company. Postcard features a view of the Blue Jacket Guard at the Naval Station Newport (historically known as the Naval Training Station Newport) in Rhode Island. These recruits were organized into guard and drill units for security, ceremonial base parades, and specialized training maneuvers. The physical Blue Jacket Guard building shown in the background was constructed at the height of mobilization during World War I, with historical archives dating its completion around November 9, 1918. It served as a central hub for the enlisted sailors assigned to security and watch standards at the massive Newport training base.
