Dietz Union Driving Lamp, a classic kerosene lantern manufactured by R. E. Dietz Company of New York, U.S.A. Originally designed for use on horse-drawn vehicles and early automobiles, this antique driving lamp is a fine example of early American transportation lighting.
The lantern features its original clear Fresnel-style front lens, black painted metal body, wire bail handle, mounting bracket, and original burner assembly with wick. Measuring approximately 11 inches tall, it displays the quality construction and timeless design that have made Dietz lanterns highly desirable among collectors of antique lighting and transportation memorabilia.

Good antique condition with age-related wear, oxidation, paint loss, and a desirable natural patina consistent with years of use. The original clear Fresnel glass lens is present along with the original burner assembly and wick. The lantern has not been tested and is being sold as a collectible display piece. The original wick is present; however, the wick adjustment mechanism does not engage, preventing the wick from advancing or retracting with the adjustment knob.
