Rowe AMI Jukebox Wallbox MP3 Player Conversion. Unlike most other wallboxes you might find on Ebay, this one actually plays WITHOUT a jukebox attached to it ! The only other listing on Ebay that pulls this together is priced at over $1000 You can buy the pieces, the wallbox, the controller, the transformer, the MP3 player and try to assemble it yourself, or you can get it here, literally plug and play ! You will get a 1970-80's era Rowe Wallbox similar to the one in the video. This chrome plated model will be in good condition but as you can imagine there will be signs of wear, minor pitting, scratches, etc as these spent decades in diners and decades more in storage. The coin mechanism remains but it can also be set for freeplay.  Each unit has been cleaned, shopped and tested. An internal amp has been fitted to drive the internal speakers but there is also an audio output which can be jacked into a sound system of your choice but a computer/sub system works great as well. To test it I have loaded 200 hits from the 60's to 80s and most people find that perfect for their needs, but you can customize the music as well.  This is a turn-key solution. Plug it into a wall outlet and start enjoying the music. You have to understand that there are 2 modes of operation. One is just as a jukebox always did, you punch the buttons, it plays that song followed by whatever other songs you might have punched in. It remembers them and plays them in order and then stops when there are no more selections. This mode was based on collecting money but these units are on freeplay. But I almost never play it that way myself. Money does not matter when you own it, so the second mode is to have it playing random selections, but if you punch in a particular song or songs, when that random song is over it will preferentially play the selected music and when they are gone it goes back to playing randomly. I leave it on the whole day if I am working on something and looking for background music. Now that you understand that, understand that each wallbox can only select a certain number of songs directly, usually 100 or 160, in this case 200 which corresponded to 50 or 80 or 100 45 RPM records with 2 sides to each record that were in a nearby jukebox. Well, in this implementation there is no jukebox needed, it plays whatever mp3 songs are on an SD card inside. This is important, in random mode it can play 100 or 200 or even more. It can play everything on that card - BUT - the limitations of the buttons allows pre-selecting only 100 or 160 of them. While most people find the 200 test selections to their liking, I know some have customized the music as well. I can provide you with instructions and answer questions, definitely doable, but you have to have some PC savvy and be willing to futz with it -- not turn-key anymore.. The music is on an SD card and the title strips can be created from a free online program and printed on your printer.  I have also recently put together a mix with more 1980's music in it. I have recently been convinced to add an internal amplifier and retain the original speakers and while I was skeptical what the sound quality would be, I am blown away. It sounds great and there is a volume control. Unlike earlier wallboxes that we're strictly electromechanical, this wallbox has a digital display that tells you what song is playing.

Unlike the Seeburg which sits flat on a table top, the Rowes are best wall mounted. You can also build a simple cradle to hang it on and I have that pictured though it is not included in this auction.
