The main feature of this example is its bold and highly prominent black cancellation. The marking consists of thick, strongly applied strokes extending across most of the stamp.
The cancellation appears unusual and may be of interest to collectors studying:
A possible London Chief Office attribution has been considered based on the general visual character of the marking. However, no clearly readable office name or definitive identifying element is visible in the scan. This attribution is therefore offered only as a possibility and is not guaranteed.

High-value Victorian stamps are frequently collected not only by catalog number but also for their cancellations and evidence of use. The unusually heavy marking on this example gives it particular study interest, although its exact purpose and office of origin remain uncertain.

The stamp appears to be the Great Britain Queen Victoria 2s6d lilac issue of 1883–1884, possibly SG 178. The catalog number is not guaranteed.
The cancellation may be connected with a London Chief Office-type use, but this identification has not been conclusively established. It could alternatively represent a parcel, fiscal, accounting, manuscript, or other administrative cancellation.
The buyer should independently verify the stamp, paper, watermark, catalog attribution, and cancellation before purchasing. No certificate is included.
