Back in the summer of 1977, Radio Shack starting selling NiCad batteries and chargers. The wave of the future, we were told. This was, if I'm not mistaken, one of the very first chargers they sold. This N4100, made by Gould for Archer (which was Radio Shack's house brand) was made in July 1977. It requires AA, C, or D batteries to be placed into the unit in pairs, at which point the charging indicator lights up on the bottom right of the top panel. This will require some clean-up of the beige plastic as well as of one of the charging blades (which has some corrosion), but I was able to get the charging lights lit with genuine old NiCad batteries in place. Perfect accessory for a battery collection. All plastic parts are untracked and unbroken. All charging blades move as they are supposed to. All four rubber footpads are in place.
