“Seattle Burlesque” (7 pages) by Jack Kerouac is an
early raw autobiographical sketch in which his characteristic prose style describes
his experiences after leaving his 63-day stint as a fire lookout in the North
Cascades during the summer of 1956.
It would later become a section of his 1965 novel, Desolation
Angels.
Allen Ginsberg's poem "Siesta in
Xbalba and Return to the States" (19 pages) was written in 1954
during his travels in Mexico. The last two pages of this long Ginsberg poem have
some scattered soiling and bent page corners.
