A mid-20th century carved Chinese hardwood wall-mounted lantern frame. Crafted with a half-hexagonal pagoda design, it features intricate pierced fretwork aprons and scrollwork finials along the top and base. The interior framework features slots designed to hold glass, silk, or paper lantern panels.
It includes a metal wall-hanging bracket on the back, making it ideal to display as decorative Oriental wall art or converted into an ambient wall sconce light feature.
Markings
Features original hand-written workshop markings on the internal frame: "10寸 双壁" (10 Inch Wall Sconce) and batch stock number ⁠762⁠.
Condition
Overall: Good vintage structural condition with beautiful wood grain and deep rich color patina.
Flaws/Note: Missing glass/paper insert panels. One top corner finial has a break/loss at the tip (as shown close-up in photos). Metal mounting bracket fitted to the reverse. Sold as a restoration or decorative frame project.
