Key Features and Variants
SIP Model: Specialized SIP variants used ETACS/RTMS-450 dual-band and featured 10-character alphanumeric LCDs.
Design: It introduced the "flip" design, with the microphone located in the folding base. Despite having an internal antenna, a physical whip antenna was added to meet customer expectations.
Functionality: Options included two-number operation, security codes, memory storage, and volume controls.
Battery: It used NiCad or Nickel-Metal Hydride (NiMH) batteries (slim or extended).
Legacy: The 9800X was the predecessor to the MicroTAC II and the later StarTAC.
