This fine camera is a sibling to the Rollei QZ 35T - they are very nearly twins. While the QZ 35T is fitted with a 38-90mm zoom lens, the 35W sports a 28-60mm lens. Both cameras were released in the 1990s and were designed by F.A. Porsche (yes, THAT Porsche). Due to their high-end design, the cameras took the photographic world by storm. The Rollei QZ 35W is much more than a fancy looking camera - it packs a lot under the proverbial hood. For starters, it is jam packed with features for photographers who want to exert more creative control over their image-making process. The QZ 35W can be used in full program, aperture or shutter priority, or full manual exposure modes. Additionally, it has a shutter speed range extending from 16 seconds all the way up to 1/8000th. This range is pretty extraordinary for a "compact" camera. Furthermore, there is multi-zone metering, auto-exposure bracketing, and even capability for multiple exposures.Now, you probably want to know if the lens on the QZ 35W is up to standard. We don't blame you for doubt, but would Rollei really go through all the rest of that trouble just to put a sub-par lens on the QZ 35W? Of course not. The Rollei VarioApogon 28-60mm f/2.8-5.6 is a remarkable lens; it would make this camera noteworthy all on its own. The lens is the product of computer-aided design and also features Rollei's HFT coatings on all the optics. This excellent lens really adds an exclamation point to the list of praise this camera rightfully receives.
