This exceptional set of 10 antique Wajima lacquer bowls represents the finest tradition of Japanese lacquer craftsmanship from the Taisho period. Expertly handcrafted from natural wood and finished in deep black Urushi lacquer, each bowl is lavishly decorated with Gold Maki-e and elegant Raden (mother-of-pearl inlay). The set is accompanied by its original wooden storage box.


The exterior presents a refined minimalist black lacquer finish, while the interior reveals an impressive composition featuring a majestic hawk perched among ancient pine trees. The design is enhanced with shimmering Raden accents and finely executed gold lacquer work, creating a striking contrast when the lid is opened. The underside of each lid is decorated with an elegant pine branch and pine cone, emphasizing the traditional Japanese appreciation of nature.
