Up for sale is a beautifully restored Ser Jacopo Per Aspera Ad Astra R1, handmade in Pesaro, Italy.

This striking slightly bent rhodesian showcases Ser Jacopo’s bold Italian design language with a crisp rusticated finish, smooth rim and beadline accents, round shank, and the maker’s signature red-dot acrylic stem. It has substantial hand feel while remaining comfortable at just 1.9 ounces.

The pipe has been thoroughly cleaned and restored. Because this one had been well-smoked, I carefully reamed the built-up cake from the chamber and sanded it fairly close to bare briar so that I could inspect the chamber walls for burnout. None was found and the chamber is structurally sound. After inspection, I added a thin food-grade protective bowl coating to provide a clean smoking surface and to assist the new owner with the development of a new cake. Before-and-after chamber photographs are included in the listing for transparency.

The rim shows honest evidence of prior use, including some remaining heat darkening and a slightly out-of-round inner edge. Rather than aggressively topping or reshaping the bowl, I chose to preserve its original proportions while ensuring it is structurally sound. These cosmetic imperfections are shown clearly in the photographs.

The rusticated finish remains crisp with excellent texture and contrast, while the smooth accents frame the shape beautifully. The original acrylic stem has been polished to a deep gloss and retains the Ser Jacopo red dot.
