This probe has interchangeable hybrid tip options representing different frequency responses. As you can see from the photos the installed tip is the Option 2 tip with a yellow tail.  The probe is tested using the calibration signal on my scope, it works properly (see oscilloscope photo).  The probe compensates properly and produces a clean square-wave response.

The installed hybrid tip is worn. The probe point is shorter than normal and is less convenient to use than a new tip, but it is functional. The calibration photos were taken using this tip.
Hybrid tips are considered a wear item and are designed to be replaced. Several eBay sellers offer replacement hybrid tips.
