The pre-1940 antique Singer like folding tracing wheel is a highly collectible, pocket-sized sewing tool. It is famous for its beautiful, ornate art nouveau handle and clever folding design. Tailors and dressmakers used it to copy patterns onto fabric. Key Features of the Tool :- Ornate Handle :- The metal handle features deeply embossed, flowing leaf and vine patterns typical of the late 1800s and early 1900s. The word "SINGER" is boldly integrated into the design. Folding Mechanism :- The spoked needle-point wheel is attached to a swing arm. It folds cleanly inside the hollow handle like a pocket knife to protect the sharp teeth. Finishes :- These tools were primarily made in two finishes: a shiny chromed/nickel-plated version and a rarer, dark "Blackside" chemically blackened finish often used by Singer during times of metal scarcity. BOTH THE FOLDING AND LOCKING WORK AS THEY WERE DESIGNED. THE MARKING WHEEL IS INTACT(ALL PINS PRESENT) AND IS SHARP+POINTED. PLEASE SEE PHOTOGRAPHS FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION/DETAILS.
