This is a lot of 3 copies of sheet music in the Simplified Piano Solos series published by Leo Feist Inc. The 3 pieces included in this lot are;

Over the Rainbow * Song Of Love * Stumbling

Leo Feist (1869-1930) published popular music in New York from 1897. He was famous for his highly aggressive marketing, with lavish rewards for successful sales managers. The firm rapidly grew in the Tin-Pan Alley era, opening branch offices in nearly every major American city, and by 1920, Leo Feist, Inc. had become one of the largest music publishers in the world.

The firm's greatest hit was My Blue Heaven of 1928 which sold over 5 million copies. However, with the depression of 1929, and Feist's death the following year, the firm saw some decline. By late 1935 the movie studio Metro-Goldwin-Mayer, bought a controlling interest in the company.

It was one of seven defendants named in a famous 1920 antitrust suit brought by the US Justice Department for controlling 80 percent of the music publishing business.

There is wear and tear from age and use on these copies of sheet music. “Stumbling” has an address sticker affixed to the front cover and a name written on the front cover. The 2 pages are held together only by some scotch tape. The notes are penciled in on the inside of this piece of sheet music. Holes have been punched into the edges of “Song Of Love” and “Over the Rainbow” so they could be placed into a 3-ring folder. There is some ink scribbling on the cover of “Over The Rainbow.” There is no writing on the inside of either “Song Of Love” and “Over The Rainbow.”
