Today for sale we have a group of vintage Roman Catholic devotional medals and pendants gathered from a longtime collection. The majority are St. Benedict medals in assorted sizes and finishes, ranging from small silver tone examples to one larger antiqued bronze medal, each showing the standing figure of St. Benedict holding the cross and rule on the front and the well known protection cross with the letters CSPB, CSSML, NDSMD, and the VRSNSMV PAX legend around the reverse. Alongside the Benedict medals are several Medjugorje pieces tied to the Marian apparitions in what was then Yugoslavia, including an open work oval reading QUEEN OF PEACE PRAY FOR US MEDJUGORIE, a small blue enamel medal marked KRALJICA MIRA and dated 1981 for the June apparition, and cut out Madonna pendants in a gold sparkle finish. Rounding out the group is a silver tone oval medal marked ST PHILIP NERI APOSTLE OF ROME PRAY FOR US. Several pieces carry a small Italy stamp. Every medal retains a jump ring or bail and is ready for wear, rosary making, or a devotional collection. Sizes run from roughly half an inch up to about one and a quarter inches against the ruler, and condition is honest and used throughout with light toning and surface wear consistent with age.
