Item Description

YAMAHA 1970 SL-500 / Red Sunburst (no260628)

This is a 1970s Yamaha SL-500 / Red Sunburst!
It's highly original, but it has the common Yamaha paint clouding.
The paint is worn overall, but it's not soft or sticky, and it doesn't leave marks on clothing when playing.
The sides are slightly rough, while the top and back are smooth as usual.
The body is made of maple for the top and agathis for the back.
The neck is maple, and the fretboard is rosewood (jet black).
The neck is in good condition, but the truss rod is a bit tight, and there are about 40% of the frets remaining.Two washers have been added to the truss rod.
The bridge saddles are quite corroded, but this doesn't cause the strings to break easily.

The rear pickup cover and pickguard are not installed.
The strap pins and four knobs have been replaced.

There is no crackling or contact problems in the electronics.
The pickups, pots, toggle switch, and other electronic components are original.

A brown hardshell case is included.

After arrival, the fretboard was oiled, the frets were polished, the neck was straightened, the octave was adjusted, the pickup height was adjusted, the electronics were checked, and overall maintenance was performed.
