If you are unsure what is the problem is to prevent sending the item than trying it on and than sending it back for no reason. Please check the transmission fluid , valve body , Shifter before ordering this part ( Have the shop look at it , do not just assume this will correct the problem )
This module is basically a computer which communicates information to other computer systems within the vehicle. The purpose of the transmission control module is to help the automatic transmission choose the best gear to be in at any given time. That way, the driving performance and fuel economy will be at the optimal level that is it. So if your transmission is bad , shifting slowly , does not shift , no reverse , Stuck in gear than this will not fix it. You will probably need a rebuilt on the transmission whole or valve body. This computer already has the program in it for that year and model only. If you try to install in a different year or model it will not work. Also due to CAN system the controller some times will need to be flashed to work with the rest of the system. PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE JUST TO TRY IT AND THAN RETURN. That is just waste of both our times. The fix could be as simple as a fluid / filter change , electrical board-shifter / wire harness / valve body problem or at the most a whole transmission rebuilt.
If the transmission controller module is bad a check engine light will be ON your dash board with the code that indicates that this is the problem and it does need replacement. If the check engine light is NOT on and the transmission is not shifting correctly or not shifting at all than the controller is fine and you have a different problem SO PLEASE DO NOT BUY.
