This antique female doll has a head made of Wax over Paper Mache with a molded bonnet She may have once had some Mohair strands of hair on the sides of her head.
She has inset glass brown eyes and her mouth is painted open with painted teeth showing.
Her applied ears are wax.
Her face paint shows wear.
She appears to be all original and shows age to her clothes and body. Her ruffled satin collar has a brown velvet trim.
Her paper mache shoulder plate has very little wax left.
She has a cloth body with composition or wood jointed wrists and forearm. Her left thumb is broken.
Her legs are wood with blue painted shoes.
She has her original slip and pantaloons
Her dress and apron do have holes.
Although she shows much age, it is a rare example of a molded bonnet doll such as this.
She was made approximately around the 1860's.
I believe she is German. But, could be French or English, definitely European made.
