Up for sale is vintage c.1980's original egg tempera and silver on board painting by Canadian artist Dorothy Renals (1932- ). 
The painting is titled Snowy Owl Family and is exceptionally well executed employing a sophisticated knowledge of light, color and perspective.

The panel itself is measuring about 36” (91 cm) by 16” (41 cm), and the frame is measuring 44” (111 cm) by 24” (61 cm).

It is signed by the artist lower right and titled verso.
This painting would be a very sound investment and a great addition to any collection.

                              Dorothy Renals (1932- ) 

Dorothy Renals was born in Toronto in March 1932 of Irish-Spanish heritage. She studied art for four years at the Northern Technical. Upon graduation, she worked in Toronto as a commercial artist for six years. She moved to Perth, Ontario in 1961 where she taught Art in the school system for four years. She left teaching to devote herself to full-time painting at her Perth Studio.
Dorothy Renals expresses a deep tenderness towards animals and nature in her work. The figure of spirit of Mother Earth is often present in her work, drawn upon ancient Celtic legends, particularly the theme of Rhiannon, in which the Earth is regarded as a female.
Dorothy Renals work displays an originality of concept, and a powerful painting technique, developed over many years of discipline and study. Finally, of the most importance, she has the vital imaginative skills which are so necessary for the creative of Visionary Art.
