It is a white metal medal from 1823 dedicated to the neoclassical sculptor Antonio Canova.

The reverse bears the Latin inscription "ARTIVM AMATORES VIRTVTVM ADMIRATORES DE OMNIVM SENTENTIA".

The date is indicated in Roman numerals: MDCCCXXIII (1823).

It was engraved by Giuseppe Girometti.
