From Casio's PRO TREK Climber Line comes the PRW-6900YL-5JF, a serious outdoor watch built around a rugged outdoor style and eco-conscious materials, with Multiband 6 radio reception and Tough Solar power. The design theme draws on bushcraft and survival gear: a sharp metal bezel inspired by the blunt shape of a wood-splitting axe, an angular in-dial hand inspired by an outdoor knife, second-hand coloring in an orange gradation that suggests a flickering flame, and a textured dial face reminiscent of the surface of cast iron like a Dutch oven.

This YL version uses a leather band made from a flame-retardant material that resists spreading fire if sparks land on it, fitting the outdoor theme. Environmentally friendly biomass plastic, made from renewable organic resources such as castor oil and corn, is used for the case and the resin case back to help reduce environmental impact.

As a watch, it combines Tough Solar charging, 10 bar (10 ATM) water resistance, and automatic radio reception of time-calibration signals from six transmitters worldwide (Japan, North America, Europe, and China), with manual reception also available; when no signal is received it keeps standard quartz accuracy. It includes a full set of outdoor measurement functions: a digital compass (16 directions, bearing 0-359 degrees), an altimeter (-700 to 10,000 m), a barometer (260 to 1,100 hPa) with trend graph and change alarm, and a thermometer (-10 to 60 C).
