The Casio Pro Trek PRW-61FC-1JF is a serious outdoor watch from the Climber Line, built with eco-conscious materials and powered by Tough Solar with radio-controlled timekeeping. The case and resin case back use plant-derived, renewable biomass plastic, and the watch features a Field Composite band - a first for this model - combining metal-embedded biomass urethane with biomass plastic center links. The band resists cracking and discoloration, staying durable while remaining lightweight.

The crystal is sapphire glass, and on this PRW-61FC the glass outer ring has a blue vapor-deposited finish that pairs with the 10 o'clock in-dial for a cool look. As a Triple Sensor watch, it offers a digital compass (bearing measurement), altimeter, barometer and thermometer. It also includes Multi Band 6 radio reception (receiving standard time signals from six transmitters across Japan, North America, Europe and China for automatic time correction), Tough Solar charging, and World Time covering 29 cities plus UTC.

Additional functions include automatic hand position correction, a 1/100-second stopwatch (24-hour), countdown timer, 5 daily alarms with hourly time signal, full auto calendar, low-temperature resistance to -10C, power saving function, and a full-auto double LED light (Super Illuminator) for both the dial and the LCD. The watch is rated to 10 ATM (100 m) water resistance. When radio reception is unavailable, it keeps standard quartz accuracy (average +/- 15 seconds per month). The altimeter is a relative altimeter that converts barometric pressure to altitude, so readings change with weather-driven pressure changes.
