Chinese Cloisonné Tea Caddy & Decorative Silk Iron – Two-Piece Collection

An attractive collection of Chinese cloisonné decorative arts, including a covered tea caddy and a decorative silk iron, both featuring hand-applied enamel decoration in vibrant turquoise, pink, white, and green tones.

The covered tea caddy displays floral decoration against a turquoise geometric ground and retains its original fitted lid. The canister features a fully enameled interior and base and is believed to have been produced for the Chinese domestic market during the Late Qing to Early Republic period. Unlike the accompanying silk iron, the canister bears no export marks.

Also included is a decorative cloisonné silk iron with embossed brass body and cloisonné enamel handle. A China mark on the underside indicates export production. Originally inspired by traditional Chinese silk irons used in textile work, this example is best appreciated today as a decorative object and conversation piece.

Dimensions – Tea Caddy:
• 3.75" H
• 3.5" W

Condition:
Both pieces display wear consistent with age and use. The tea caddy lid shows enamel loss, wear, and age-related imperfections. Additional patina, surface wear, and minor irregularities are present throughout both pieces. The silk iron exhibits age-related wear to the brass and enamel. Please review all photographs carefully, as they are considered part of the description and accurately depict condition.

A charming decorative pairing for collectors of chinoiserie, Asian decorative arts, Palm Beach interiors, and layered traditional spaces.
